The air quality across all districts in Sri Lanka remains low, with Colombo and Jaffna reporting higher pollution levels, according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO).
Sarath Premasiri, Director of the Environmental Studies & Services Division at NBRO, stated that wind flow from India is a major contributing factor. He also noted that several South Asian countries are experiencing increasing air pollution levels.
Premasiri advised individuals with respiratory conditions to take necessary precautions due to the deteriorating air quality.
