Workers’ remittances to Sri Lanka witnessed a significant rise in December 2024, totaling USD 613.8 million. This represents an increase from USD 530.1 million recorded in November 2024 and surpasses the USD 569.7 million received in December 2023.
The robust growth in remittances underscores the vital role of expatriate workers in bolstering Sri Lanka’s economy, providing a much-needed boost to foreign exchange reserves.
