Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) member Habeeb Rifan was sworn in as a new Member of Parliament today (24).
He took his oath before the Speaker after parliamentary proceedings commenced this morning.
Rifan was appointed to fill the National List parliamentary seat that became vacant following the resignation of M.S. Abdul Wahid, who served as an SLMC National List MP.
He subsequently took his oath and assumed his duties as a Member of Parliament.
