Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, has emphasized the need for unity between the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) under a new alliance.
Speaking to CeylonWire.lk, Karunanayake stressed that while no one can force the two parties to unite, working together is the key to electoral victory. However, he noted that a handful of individuals from both sides are hindering the alliance efforts.
He urged party members to act with respect and build public trust, rather than focusing on party symbols. Karunanayake further argued that political logos have lost their significance and suggested that any decision regarding them should be made based on public opinion.
