The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has raised concerns over a significant number of businesses selling telephones and communication devices without the required licenses.
Assistant Director of TRCSL, Menaka Pathirana, stated that offenders will face fines exceeding Rs. 1 million if found operating without the necessary authorization.
To address this issue, the TRCSL has initiated a special program to notify unlicensed businesses and urge them to comply with the regulations promptly.
This initiative underscores the TRCSL’s commitment to ensuring compliance within the telecommunications sector, safeguarding consumer interests, and maintaining industry standards.
