The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, and Hambantota districts.
- Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50mm is likely in Uva province and in the Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Ampara, and Hambantota districts.
- Northern province and Anuradhapura district can expect several spells of rain.
- Showers or thundershowers are also anticipated in other areas during the afternoon or night.
Winds:
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are expected over the Northern, Eastern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and in the Matara, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts.
Misty Conditions:
Morning misty conditions may prevail in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
The general public is urged to take precautions against potential damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
